A girlish giggle
A constant smile
Immature I first perceived
Until we connected
With our pain
Then I saw; Then I knew
A beautiful, torn, ripped heart
Had she
Like me
Laughter reborn from pain
A constant smile
Grown from the soil
Where a flower died
By suicide
Then I saw; Then I knew
A piece of my heart
She owned
I gave

My name is Erika too so had to read the poems in this section. Such a sad situation you write about in this poem. One never knows what causes others to take their own life - or if we could ever reach that low as well. Great author page you have created - brings back memories - the Carpenters - loved their music.

excellent~
You helped her through her pain....
She also helped you through yours...
She owned a piece of your heart...
You gave her a piece of yours...
Best of luck in the contest
Hugs
Susan~~~
