A dream of light

I will dream of shells;
An innocence rotating in mind's eye,
Coral-washed by sea of diamond folds.

I will dream bright stars;
In luminous, undying ghosts of you,
Which hang; suspended elegance in gold.

So I dream pale tresses;
Vespers, stroking soft the head of love
Echo all that human spirit underlies.

And I dream calm seas;
Lapping lustrous, terracotta sands
In water-eyed reflections of the wise.

Then I dreamed of dawn;
Collapsing world of sleep and silent eye,
Soft movement of the lover and the bird.

And I dreamed of light;
Soul’s candle, flickering absence of all hurt,
Refracted grace which quietly binds our world.

    Astounding!

    This is of a quality that I rarely see. It's so fresh, inspired and has a purity that's sometimes difficult to put into words yet you manage to portray it with ease.

    Peace Georgia

    This is a really beautiful poem. I like how it sounds like someone is dreaming a beautiful dream. I especially like this:

    "And I dream calm seas;
    Lapping lustrous, terracotta sands
    In water-eyed reflections of the wise."

    Thanks for entering my contest!

    Blessings,

    This is gorgeous. Its so refreshing to read a "pretty" poem. So many of them are dark, angry, sad, weird or gross. This was born of beauty.

    Good work!
