Life of Broken Promises

L ittle girls need to know,
I f to them, truth’s been told.
F reedom from lies is but a small task
E mbarked upon by trusting en masse’.

O ften times the promise is made
F orever they will try to wait

B elieving in the lies that daddy tells,
R ealizing deceit is an empty shell.
O ver and over again, they trust
K nowing this time that he really must
E xcel above all to make it right
N ot be hurt by one they won’t fight.

P romises are NOT made to be broken
R everberating off walls as spoken,
O nly kept in unconditional love
M eanings clearly seen below and above.
I ntegrity and honor present and real
S ecurely given and never concealed
E ffortlessly the truth will prevail
S eeking promises to succeed not fail.

An amazing acrostic, bringing home the reality of forgotten dreams and false promises. A deep and very meaningful write, well done on the placing too.

DB, this is so relevant to life and innocence.
Repeated faith and trust does have its limits and
when it is drained, Confusion and bitterness are
all that remain. Best to you with this outpouring
of a mothers emotional observations. Blue
