I lay my head down to sleep
My day was long and exhausting
With tired hands I reach to pull the sheets up next to my head
I start to drift away from this world
And I know that I will dream of you
While I'm in my bed and I am dozing through the night
Sneaking off to go to dreamland
Is where my mind is now
Remembering all the good times we have had
Drifting through this dreamscape
Bask to our first date
It comes to me clear as the light of day
Visions of that sunset
Fill my dreaming mind
As I'm transported backwards through the pages of time
Nestled in eachother's arms
With a breezy, clifftop ocean view
I hold you close and we watch the sky turn shades of red
Seagulls squawking here and there
As the sun nears the horizon
Twilight's coming and the first stars are almost in view
The campfire's lit and burning
With driftwood still to spare
And with a smile I turn to see your glowing face
I am nothing short of awestruck
As you turn to meet my eyes
And my body seems to melt while you hold me tight
The sky keeps growing darker
With every tick of time
As we're covered up by the deep blue blanket of night
I feel your head on my shoulder
And I take your hand inside of mine
I can feel our hearts beating perfectly in unison
The moon is showing its bright face
And shooting stars dart across the sky
We can hear the waves breaking below us on the beach
Memories are forming
On this Van Gogh-esque night
With the fire burning brghtly I kiss your cheek
I know there is a reason
For all these things I do
And with a smile I say that I'll return to you

Do I hear the Ocean Waves?
What a walk on the beach kind of date!
I could just feel my whispy dress in the beautiful breeze you've penned.
Thanks for your poem.
