Why do I need
anyone else?
I am yours,
fully yours.
My heart has been
captured
by You.
And yet,
I am glad that
I gave You
my heart.
Because You will never
break it.
Why do I need
a guy for
Valentine's Day
when I have
You, Lord?
I'm falling
deeper and deeper
in love
with You
each day.
Lord, I want
to be wholly
Yours forever.
I want to be
Your girl
Your princess
Your jewel
forever.
I will be
devoted to You
forever, Lord.
You will always
be my Valentine.
God, I know
the girls around me
all have their
boyfriends.
But Lord,
at some point,
their boyfriends will
break their hearts,
betray them,
and leave them empty.
But guess what?
I have You, Jesus.
You're my
Prince Charming
because
You died for me.
My Valentine Card
this year is red.
Do You know why, Lord?
It's red because
Your blood covers it all.
Your blood was
spilled because of
love
for me.
I love You,
Lord,
because You
loved me first.
You're my Valentine, Lord.
Why do I need
guys when I have
the King of Kings?
So thank you,
my Valentine,
for Your love.
But thank you
most of all
for the card
and Your
gift.

this is a beautiful poem. i like how explain that God is ur valentine, my heart has been broken by guys that just don't care about you, but one guy that i met when i was in need and trouble hasn't ever broke my heart or betryaed me in any way....that special gut was God, and i happy to say that he is all that i will ever need....I love this poem...please keep up the great work...

Thanks! I think it's really cool that God gave us a desire to love but He still chose to give us free will. I mean, seriously. The fact that He lets us decide how to live our lives shows ultimate love! I would personally hate being some little robot who was like a wind-up doll or something. Man, our God is pretty awesome. :-)

I was talking about God's awesome gift of Jesus. I mean, seriously. MY GOD IS AMAZING!!!! He is so good to me! Yeah, my life isn't perfect, but because He gave His Son to die for this world, I can live in Him! And, honestly, life in Him is the only kind worth living. John 10:10, eh?

The last line is perfect. God is love, which we have a special season to appreciate in this time of the year between Christmas and Easter. St. Valentine was a Christian martyr, which has been almost completely forgotten in the twenty-first century. Thanks for your eloquent reminder!

He's our superhero!!! I think it's so cool how at the same time that I'm writing this, He's protecting you and walking right by your side. You're very right. God is Lord every day of the year, not just Christmas or Easter or Valentine's Day. He reigns every day of the year for all of eternity! And people ask why we serve Him???
