Remember the days of the windswept dreams?
Counting back the minutes until our first kiss?
Years have gone by, decades it seems,
And you turn to me now and say its me that you miss.
You heard my lies,
Darkening the autumnal skies.
Like a falling leaf, you weaved through my life,
Changing to gold in the cool breeze of autumn.
You held my hand through the sorrow and strife,
And taught me to ignore the insults of some.
The tears filled your eyes,
Blue like my autumnal skies.
You carried my cross and burnt all the fears,
Opened the cemetery gates and let the soul free.
I thought I would drown in this lake of tears,
Until you came and showed the beauty that was me.
I heard your cries,
Echoing across the autumnal skies.
I pushed you away like a fake five leaved clover,
And blamed it on you for all the things I did wrong.
Autumn draws to its end and the year is over,
I’ve hidden myself in the Fall for so long.
Counting back the minutes until our first kiss?
Years have gone by, decades it seems,
And you turn to me now and say its me that you miss.
You heard my lies,
Darkening the autumnal skies.
Like a falling leaf, you weaved through my life,

Author notes
An old one I just randomly found on a back up disk.
Its currently under going a re-write, as its actually the lyrics to a song I wrote many years back (though I'll be damned if I can remember the music to it!!)
I might put up the finished lyrics, but this will do for now
Please tell me what you think

This is so beautiful, I love Autumn, and the way you weaved it through this. It had emotion and wisdom!
