Face The Music

Missing image
Face the music if you dare,
can't help but to stop and stare.
Are you still on that track?,
perhaps that's why I see your back.

Tried so hard to play that tune,
closing time just came too soon.
It's in your blood and on your skin,
never too late to start again.

The intensity of your pain
is reflected on the distant walls.
To have come so far and quit,
will expose the nature of your flaws.

Facing the music can set you free,
determine fate, change one's destiny.
Turn around and write the song,
it's the key to where you belong.

To walk away is to surrender,
harden a heart once so tender.
You have composed the hardest part,
always finish what you start.

  • To walk away is to surrender,
Harden a heart once so tender.

I can relate to these 2 lines perfectly.
My heart has been iced for many years.

I like this poem a lot. I like the last 2 stanzas immensely. the last line in the last stanza is something that my father always used to tell me. Its an important statement to live by.. can you imagine how many things would remain left undone and how tangle things would get.

you did a excellent job on this prompt.

    good luck in the contest.
