I'll love you for today, I said,
And then I softly sighed.
Today you have my heart, I said,
But now you should know I lied.
I'll love you for tomorrow,
But can't guarantee the end.
I promised you tomorrow,
But I know I lied again.
I'll love you to the death, I said,
Or at least I'm going to try.
I'll love you 'til my death, I said,
That was just one more lie.
When I told you I'd love you forever,
I lied then too.
Forever isn't long enough for you.
