she is a carnival of colours,
a peaceful demonstration
of prayer chains and praise,

seeks light to illuminate,
love, sweet love in cartwheels
of spin-the-sky in joy,

listening to Gospel music
in her gladrags
that have seen better days,

feeling younger
than her inner child
though questions still remain,

the body of her land
will not be invaded again,
she is a survivor,

a work in progress
with plenty of scope,
to learn self-discipline,

in her heart there is hope,
she is mother mercy
and doesn't act being a sister,

as strong as any man,
she challenges herself
via a need to make a difference,

hoping that if she doesn't enable
that she doesn't make matters worse

i do not know whether i am coming or going or where i have been lol this is the third poem lucky i find i have not visited.
i think of that programme we were speaking on the other day here with the body of her land will not be invaded again - mother nature speaking, reclaiming what is hers after man is no more

Quite an insightful powerful piece. A menagerie, an internal review of power and frailities. Metaphor and imagery rich as is every line contained in this poem.

Good luck and thank you for entering.

There on the down beat up with the breath that is really sweet, swing with the jazz band, be big of heart and share the love that lives within the heart. Never accept the glad handed lies, read the soul behind the eyes and in the waters of sweet heaven's peace know you are loved by the angels and humans who have touched your heart so sweet.
    Love Tom B.

    wise wise words

love pieces like this:soul searching philosophy. for me this is what poetry is all about helping us to discover more about ourselves and our world and sharing it with others.this little piece is full of gems loved the line about being younger than your inner child.we need to stay young and humble to learn.the message of this reminds of a piece I wrote called the grass never stops growing which says we should do likewise and continue to learn all our lives.well done for this enjoyable and fruitful piece.

    what a wonderful poem,
    a work in progress
    with plenty of scope,
    to learn self-discipline,
amen to that. I love the serious and yet light contrast of this poem-both sad yet hopeful, wary yet brave.
