a whale
a whale
a whale
...and im weighed down by some heaviness.
but it wont reach my eyes,
because the truth
can be chucked out
tucked away.
so its a glance
something
under the wardrobe
down the back
and its not visible
not really
just a feeling
that will not reach my eyes
and sting my heart and
heres a whale
majestic, lumbering through the ocean
eternal
he knows
that the sea took him
like the sea does and should
but he knows
(im not looking)
(Im not looking)
and ill wallpaper him all over this day
Ill cover it Ill hide it
with whale
a beautiful picture of a whale
because
the sea
(I wont listen)
is just his resting place
away from me
Author notes
This was a strange contest- inspired by the history of a man...whose death is obscured..."a beautiful picture of a whale" i think she needs the romance of the whale, to ease the way he died/or the way he left her

I rarely read a poem that makes me want to read much more by the author, but you have captivated me well and siezed my attention. I think I may have loved your author's comment even more, as it made me see the song in a way I never had before. And I feel you're right; how tragically beautiful is that?
