Slipping quietly into the river
the tiger views his prey
stepping oh so slowly
as his tail so gently sways.
With all his power and beauty
muscles ripple along his back
to pounce when time is right
and go on the attack.
In dark of night his eyes see clear
he does not shift his gaze
poised with eyes on fire
focussed, in a daze.
A hunter he's been all his life
it's the nature of his heart
learning survival's lessons
to endure he's become most smart.
With body sleek and glossy
he moves intently on his way
ready for another meal
that will keep, for now, hunger at bay

Sharp poem, flows easily, rhyming is very good, and the subject described really well. Good Luck in the contest.
