With unquestioning devotion, he waits
eyes shining, heart pounding
A kind word is all he wants
and maybe a scratch behind the ear

Not all that much different to you and me
as we reach out, seeking affection
Both willing to sit and wait
with faithful heart throughout the years

Man's best friend...how I wish I could see
the world through his eyes

    This short verse captures the spirit of the prompt. I particularly liked the second stanza equating canine behavior with our own: "Both willing to sit and wait with faithful heart throughout the years." Thank you for your entry. Peace, Liz

    Good work Mum..I think I needed this read, after evrything my dog has been doing to be lately, you know what I am talking about lol. A little bit of faith restored to be kind and loving and affectionate and maybe I will get what I want form him
