Dear diary,

Dear diary,

January 29, 1977
That damn dog won’t stop barking at night and now it visits me at my home! And the voices in my head are still there – but now I know how to silence them for a little while. Tonight I found a couple making out in the Pontiac Firebird – they never saw me coming, I just walked up raised my bulldog revolver and squeezed the trigger. The passenger window shattered and the woman’s brains covered the windshield as my bullet smashed through her temple – at once the voices stopped, my mind was at rest…

March 8, 1977
My damn neighbours dog Harvey refuses to leave me be, talking to me hour after hour – but tonight surely I have shut those other voices up for good, it was so damn impressive. I was walking on the footpath when approached by a young collage girl – she even stepped aside to let me pass but I just pushed my gun into her face and fired! It shredded through her top lip-splitting it in half and sending the first fall of blood down her shirt - smashed several teeth on it’s way straight up before finding it's resting place in her brain!!She was dead before her skull smashed onto the pavement.

Will someone shut up that damn dog!! What is it that you want for me Harvey? – I’ve already killed two tonight. A young couple making in out in their car, I got them both in head – I can still picture the back of her hair convulsing as each bullet smashed out the back of her skull in that spray of red mistthat i have come to know so well,i can still see the brain fragments slowly sliding their way down the front of the Passenger side seat...

April 18,1977
They’re calling me a madman? It’s the dog they should be chasing- I had left them a letter at my last killings so the police could understand my reasoning but they say I made no sense – the work and raving of a madman. I even told them about my father Sam – he’s a vampire you know – they must of seen something in that they liked – now they’re calling me the “Son of Sam”

August 10,1977
I know I’ve Neglected you my friend-but these last weeks have passed so fast – A few months ago I finally did it, I picked up my .44 – walked next door and looked Harvey right in the eyes before blowing his doggy brains all over my neighbours yard! Finally I thought peace would return to my conficted mind, but it returned !! Believe me for it is true, the Damn dog is the Devil it self – Returning from the dead to haunt me , but I know it won’t be for long.I heard the Cops are on to me,maybe not true but the facts were good – All to do with a stupid Parking Ticket – Can you believe that,The Son Of Sam – About to be caught by nothing more than a simple Parking Ticket…Thank God,Maybe in Death,I’ll find Peace

    Very, Very Good

Great write, I like the diary format. Too bad David's "Son of Sam Insanity Plea" didn't fly. He has his own website now, he's a born-again Christian LOL Enjoyed it immensely

Not what I expected - not what I would write in my diary - but to each his own. You certainly described what you did and to whom.
