Our meeting was memorable and anonymous
The lively room was completely filled with people
But our eyes met from across the room
And suddenly no one else existed in the world
We are two different people, you and I
From different backgrounds, different cities
Though it didn't stop us from being together
We danced the night away with voices sung out
We laughed at our worst moments of embarrassment
And shared that disapproving kiss when everyone looked
But our happiness, was to be short lived
For within three days
You had vanished from my sight
What I wouldn't give
To hold you again love..
To stare up into your tender eyes
And know that I am once again
Truly loved and cared for
I look back on the pictures
We had taken with one another
Under the old, droopy willow that starry night
Then on the bridge above the sparkling water
Even in the dark arcade in front of the darts
And I can’t help but wish, the distance between us
Was so much shorter than reality shows
How I long to be able to see you everyday
To be able to reach out and hug you
Every morning at early sunrise
When the dew is new on the grass
Just as we had so long ago
Our contact is plenty
By means of phone and internet
But this cannot satisfy my heart much longer
It aches for your secure, embracing arms
Your entrancing eyes to gaze down upon me
My heart aches, for our kiss to be shared
Just one more time
The lively room was completely filled with people
But our eyes met from across the room
And suddenly no one else existed in the world
We are two different people, you and I
From different backgrounds, different cities
Though it didn't stop us from being together
We danced the night away with voices sung out
We laughed at our worst moments of embarrassment

Author notes
We live within 4 hours of one another. It's a tease to me since I cannot drive on my own yet and he has his parents watching him 24/7. We met at the Thespian Conference and I couldn't believe how much I liked him. We've kept in contact since, growing ever so more interested in one another. I miss him so very much and dedicate this poem to him, my distant someone.

Wow! This is such a beautiful and sweet
dedication to the one that you love. I
love the title that you gave this one.
I think you did a wonderful job putting
your emotions and passion for this special

It is always a truly great feeling when you meet someone you connect with like that. The use of imagery in this piece is particularly effective; I could really envisage what you were describing. It has a very personsal feel to it,and it easy to tell this is from the heart.
Writing from the heart is what I always look for in poetry...and yet again you seem to have done it. I honestly think this is one of the best texts i've read on here since joining just over a year ago.
I really hope something happens to make things possible for this long distance somone and yourself, you definitely deserve it.
I leave you with a few quotes:
"If I had to run, if I had to crawl, if I had to swim 100 rivers, just to climb 1000 walls, always know that I will find a way, to get to where you are."
"The distance isn't an important factor, neither is how you get from A to B transport wise, what really matters (points to heart) is what that tells you. Follow your heart, follow your instincts. Fuck what others say, fuck them all, because at the end of the day, what you are willing to do for a long distance relationship is key to its success or failure. Now go get what you truly want."
Again, a supurb poem writen by a great poet, well done, apoloiges for the loooong comment.
speak soon
