I'm not afraid of happy ending I'm just afraid my life wont work that way

Once upon a time-
Isn't that how most fairy tales start?
Once upon a time
In some small deranged town
South of Virginia
But North of South Carolina
Two (proud) parents saw
Their second child start to bawl
At four minutes passed midnight
On June 8th, 1993.
And also,
To welcome the new baby girl,
The only sister ran around the waiting room,
Screaming to return her new sibling-
Isn't that sisterly love??

One to three years
Could be described
As the biggest blur
The babe ever saw,
Between fights,
And a mother leaving,
An angry father,
And a still unsure sister,
How could a happily ever after appear?
Years went on,
As, of course, they would,
And unlike Cinderella,
Sara,
The main child of our fairy tale,
Grew to love this family
as dysfunctional as it was.

Ten and two years,
Could be where the tales truly begins,
After years of being torn
Two ways to please
A mother and a father
Unwilling, and yet willing to compromise
A final decision made,
And in a way,
No one won,
The two siblings
Moved with thier mother,
And,
Unfortunatley,
Two years have only passed,
No real happy ending...

Yet.
But doesn't everyone deserve a happy ending?

Author notes
