(Walking Blues Song)
Well, I am walking along that Golden Gate
with a bottle of wine and a real hot date.
The reason I'm high is not the wine,
but, because this little gal is mine.
We met in Acapulco back in two-thousand-six.
She was sittin' 'round the pool with a pina colada mix.
She walks up to me and she asks me the time.
I say, man my heart beat doubletime.
It was half-past six and she said, "Is that all?
I've got to wait 'till eight for Merrill-Lynch to call."
I said, "Honey, you can wait with me
we can watch the exchange and the scenery."
She said, "No, but sweetie don't you make a scene.
We can meet at seven in my limosine.
It's not just a ride in your average car,
it's got a waterbed and a catered bar."
Well, it wasn't long and we were on our way
with a snifter full of Grand Marnier.
The seat rolled back into a bed, she said,
"Let's drink some champagne instead."
I put my sweaty palm upon her belly-button
then the phone rang, and it was E.F. Hutton.
She put the receiver up to her ear
and said, "Hey, E. F., what's the story dear?"
"Maam, Exxon's up and DuPont's down
McDonald's is the only safe investment around.
I don't know for sure but I got the urge
to say Congress and Mattel may merge.."
I told her, "I'm not bored, but love, my passion's cold."
She said, "Sorry E.F., but you're going on hold."
There's going to be some fun today
in Indiana U. S. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Doobie doobie doobie doo wap, oh yeah.

I thought I'd put the most superficial feelings I could find into a poem for this contest, just to be different.

Maybe I could review this in one word, WOW. I shan't but what a tour-de-force, I wait with baited breathe for the recording to top the charts but until then, great write. We loved the totally obsure take on feelings, quirky is always good and the execution is perfect.
You know all about round 10, you are allowed two entries there and we'd love to see them, if nothing else you are bound to make us laugh more than the rest put together!
Thanks a lot for the entry, great write.

seems bluesy sounding, although not the most blues inducing subject matter!

I like the satirical tone!

Different is right! This is fantastic. I think this is the only song posted in this contest and I see a winner. I couldn't read this without singing it and smiling. It's fun and full of vivid imagery. Perfect!
Love,
