Lovers

Lo, the flickering stars above
And the glowing of the moon
Shine down on me and my sweet love
The wind exhales a swoon

The hoots of owls and cricket’s song
Is music in the night
The troubles of the day, so long
Have disappeared from sight

She kissed me once – kissed me twice
As fireflies dance around
And one more kiss to make it thrice
As I am now spellbound

I look into her moonlit eyes
Her scent, so soft and pure
Her touch, and all that it implies
Add to her allure

And so, this night, we are in love
‘Neath the glowing of the moon
‘Neath the flickering of the stars above
And the wind with its gentle swoon.

BEAUTIFUL!!! I enjoyed reading this poem and it touched me deeply. "And so, this night, we are in love
‘Neath the glowing of the moon
‘Neath the flickering of the stars above
And the wind with its gentle swoon." says it all. Congratulation on the HM this write is deserving of at least the silver. God Bless, Jo-Ann

I am looking at a white full moon tonight, and this poem makes me wish for summer, Michael. Soft romance is captured as if it floated on soft breezes... Lovely, yes. ~ karen
