Everyday rituals
burden me with memories
I don’t want to remember,
Stories
I don’t want to tell,
Lies
I know will become my truths.
Hiss, whine, shout, scream
Overwhelming me
until I retreat into oblivion, apathy,
where I can remained unharmed. Safe.
Rising up from the depths of my sanctuary, my only means of sanity,
hurts
Sadness, joy, pain, love
hurt
Your voice, piercingly loving,
furiously caring,
hurts
Smiling,
I know I’m home
