Lying on the floor
Reaching out
Only a little further
If only I could grasp it
Just extend my fingers and brush it's surface
But I'm still waiting
For what?
Salvation?
If I move I'll be sick
The world is spinning around me
Around and around in circles
So I'll just stay in this place
Unmoving in my silence
And hope to god I'll be okay
The reality is
I'll never be okay
Sanity comes in short bursts
Beautiful, sparkling clarity
And I think I can breathe again
Then it comes like a punch in the stomach
Knocking the air from me
And everything blurs again
The reality is
I won't see daylight anymore
So, pressing my cheek to the cold floor
To dim the fiery ache inside my soul
I stay in place
Like a lifeless doll
Which isn't far from me, anyway
Slipping further
And further away
Author notes
My take on insanity. I don't believe it's a manic sort of thing but something that will smother you over time.
Oh... and I am wonderful
Lol. Like You guys didn't already know.

You are quite righat about insanity, or so I can see it anyway. It'll effect you long turn much more and it will grasp you, take you and hold your own brain hostage. I've always been frightened of losing my mind in my life. Nicely written.

I guess few people think of Insanity, as Beautiful sparkling clarity.
A well written piece enjoyed reading it.
Thank you for entering the contest and good luck -
Somehow you make insanity seem beautiful. Truly excellent! My favorite part is:
"Sanity comes in short bursts
Beautiful, sparkling clarity
And I think I can breathe again
Then comes a punch in the stomach
Knocking the air from me
And everything blurs again"
The visual it creates is breathtaking in itself.
One of the best writes I've read by you in a while. This is what makes me want to collabrate even more.
Lovely.
