Kindle the Fire

Coals glow dimly
in our hearth.
We stir dying embers;
dwell upon love's vow.

Kindle with kindness,
comfort and hope.
Laughter sparks life;
black ash spirals.

Smoke clouds the chamber,
then clears.
Flames lick brick walls;
passions blaze again.

Joyce Josephson

    Thanks for joining my second contest.
    It was quite short, I read 21 lines, I expected it to be longer.

    Anyway, I enjoy the metaphor.

    Lovely metaphoric write that I can relate well to. Your words are few yet very moving, plucking the heartstrings. Well Done dear Sister, best of luck in the auction.

    Bandit Auction #11

    I adore this it was gorgeous, the words that fell easily and the love the flowed forth to clearly show love and how it is affected in life.

    Ooh, great description you have here I'm not sure if I interpreted it right, but I guess you were writing down those moments of making things good again after a fight?

    Anyway, thank you for entering the contest - I wish you the best of luck!
