cuz reality doesn't work that way
no prince is gonna ride up on his freaking white horse
to save your sorry derriere.
you gotta wage your own war, princess.
and it's too late, darling,
that old witch has you-heart soul and tragedy
since she just slammed the oven door to your dreams
no prince there, sweetheart.
when the BIG BAD WOLF beats you down
there's no hot lumberjack with his axe
believe me, girlie dearest, it's the laceration clarity talking.
don't fall too hard-asleep or in love-
that fatal kiss he'll withdraw once he knows
exactly how much you need it, start the cleansing process
now, while you still have the chance.
Life Lesson #1-don't take food from strangers
once your lips taste the death it's impossible to resist
lying there with the midgets, waiting again for your prince-
*-SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME-*
on that freaking white horse, as he slipslipslides away.
*-someday my prince will come-
someday he'll need me

WOW! how wonderfully dark, so much truth in this piece, it's fantastic! I love how you incorporate snippets of fairy tales and turn them into dire warnings of living to deep in fantasy's grip. The poem flows well, with just enough 'in-your-face' attitude to really capture the readers attention without being too nasty about it. I do like this, and the way you twisted the fairy tales around. I don't see what option it is, although it is a fantasy, it isn't the type of fantasy I asked for, but it is a reall good poem
