I felt a sudden connection with you,
a certain electricity between us
one could cut it with a knife.
You knew my thoughts,
as if we had known another
in another life.
I want to hold you forever,
so close to me.
Oh, who blackened the moon?
You soothed my aching heart,
said the right words
to calm my restless mood.
but still…
It would never be,
together you and me,
Happy ever after…
Oh, Soul mate of mine
Why do you belong to another?

Longing
Longing for someone that could never be yours.
I like the way you got straight to the point with
I felt a sudden connection with you,
a certain electricity between us
one could cut it with a knife.
It immediately caught my attention and kept it there all through the poem.
Great write.

This poem makes me think of a love lost. I check in on him from time to time, happy to see that he loves another but wishing it were me in his arms. This is great in that it evokes a strong emotional response from me. Thanks for entering and good luck.
