Sad empty-eyed she lies atop the knoll,
besmirched, encroached on by another.
A leaf falls silent tolling passing of summer days,
an empty shell of long gone estimations.

Oh this is much better! It flows perfectly now
It leaves a very empty feeling behind it. Kind of a sad, regretful sigh. I do love this so!
Thankyou for entering my contest.

I love the feel of this, however I'm not sure about the second line. It doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the lines you have chosen. You can change it if you wish, you have until the contest closes.
