My Mom

There are times when I just don't know
When to stop pushing myself
There are times when I go over the edge
Losing my sanity in this life

There are times when I forget

But God is good and he's given me a treasure

A diamond of a jewel; both tough and beautiful

To help me carry on

You give me hope and faith

Even though you feel vulnerable sometimes

Show the way despite all the madness

Letting me know that I'm loved

Yea, my mom's a real treasure

And when I grow up and we switch roles

I promised myself I would give her

The best days of her life

Your wisdom is well beyond your years, as many children do not appreciate their parents like this ,especially at your young age. I commend you on your love and respect for your dear mother. I am sure that she felt so happy and proud to have received this special poem from your heart. This is just beautiful! Blessings, Patty

Thought I'd return the favor and check out some of your poems and of course this one caught my eye. I have three sons and one daughter who is with the Lord now but if she had lived I hope she would have felt for me what it is plain you feel for your mom. There is one part that reminds me of my own mom...."A diamond of a jewel;both tough and beautiful" Keep sharing this gift you have!

Congrats on the honorable mention... I'm not all too sure how this fits into option ten, but I suppose, yeah.

Well it's nice to know that there are people with healthy mother-daughter relationships. That's enviable and quite admirable. Thanks for entering and good luck.
