Some days are very mild
And others dip down so low,
Frigid temperatures every couple of days
Sometimes followed by lots of snow.
I haven't seen this much snow
In the past few years,
We've had more snow this Winter
It sometimes fills me with fear.
I worry about the homeless people
That have to live on the streets,
Nothing to keep themselves warm
They should be provided with blankets and heat.
We have got dumped on
More times than not,
I would like to see Summer
Where the days are a little hot.
This is a cold Canadian Winter
Never to ever be forgot,
With our pants down
We certainly have been caught.

I've never experienced a true canadian winter, but I've heard lots of it. You truly get the coldness of it out in this piece, and I like that you bring a moral. Good job!

Sadness, hope and joy...even a laugh in the end..it's just all there

I liked it a lot, although I don't like the winter either and I hate it there still are so many homeless around the world...
Good luck in this contest

Great write Cynthia, I like the descriptions of the cold winters in Canada. We have gotten more snow here also then we have for several years. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

This was lovely to read, although the homeless bit made me sad.

Nice, Cynthia
I agree with Caked... comfort poetry and something all ages can relate to. I think you've touched a chord with all who live in snow and/or cold country. Your reference to the homeless is touching. I worry about them, too.
Thank you for entering and good luck with this very first entry

Comfort Poetry
This poem is more comfort poetry than ever. This is the type of poetry I can read with some children in winter. School like setting poetry. Then again, most of us know poetry thanks to our holy English teachers when were little toddlers in school.
I like this. Hey, I really do. Kind of gave me a heads up on Canada with their winter. This is not bad at all. Hope you win.
