Time suspended in dusty limbo
Clustered humanity pressing, pressing
Subtle vibrations coursing through
restricted veins and allyways' both
Nothing to do but wait
Canned aggression, regression, compression
Milling about between empty seats
Stepping just to step out of reality
Nothing to do but wait
So the rain poured down to wet my face
Dampen the runway and ruin my shoes
But I am on my way to my happiness
So time doesn't matter any more
Take as much as you'de like
Our captain took us on a rolling journey
I hit the gas and closed my eyes
Left the rest behind to fight my demons
Nothing to do but wait the trials
Nothing to do but wait
Without the ground to hold me insane
I drifted without an anchor
But when I opened my eyes,
your face was there, and I
slipped into sanity once more
Back to my place- where I am safe
So one last time the wheels touch down
And my toes are finally dry
When those pearly-white gates slowly
Slide open, I slide into your arms
No longer do I wait
Nothing to debate
No longer do I wait
And the rain poured down to wet my face
Damped the runway and ruin my shoes
But I am on my way to my happiness
So my time doesn't matter
Take as much as you'de like
Just as much as you'de like

Wow, wow.
How can I dislike a poem that contains a captain? Thank you for sharing this with me!

paragraph 3, last line - you might want to check your spelling -
Wow. I am awestruck. This was truly amazing... It caught my attention because I, too was a runaway at one time... So I can definatley relate to this poem...

I am glad that you can relate! I am not sure what you mean by runaway, though. This is about a plane runway, and the theme is not so much running away, as it is running to.
Thanks for the read, though. I always enjoy it when I get an emotional response!
