Hearing your pain,

bound,

desperate in chains.

I scream out

your name.

I claw my way to you.

I am driven insane by your
collapsing blood veins, vain
I sold my soul for you.

Poisonous minds, raping
you blind.

Blood feasting the brains.

Each link on

your chain

Strong and Tight.

Erasing the fight,

stalking your thoughts. 

Death is seducing you.

You refuse to see the
dis of your ease,
devouring you.... alive.

I scream out your name,
I claw out in pain, vain

Devouring you alive
is the "truth" that you
hide.

 

A skeleton key

you swallowed with pride,

deny to me.....

 


You are more afraid
to live then
die.

Death is stalking and

eager to seduce

Contest prompt: Option # 2

Heroin & Meth is hitting our high schools Hard
here in WA. State.

drugs, alcohol, laughter and fun, until you feel the
link on the chain begin to tighten.

addiction: it's not about willpower, it's about the
brain's hunger for more, seductive and sweet the alcohol,
& drugs speak to the mind, give me more and more, until
enough is never enough!

A song to break thru the myths would encourage many
to close the door to heroin and meth's seduction.

    BRAVO! You have done an AWESOME job at describing the horror's of the very real epidemic in Washington State!
    I am sure it is hard hitting everywhere but I do believe that that our state is suffering a great deal more.

    This is such a powerfully clear message and so full of the truths, such as the line " You are more afraid to live than to die"
    WOW.
    Awesome, simply awesome.

    you are such a versatile writer.....this poem is deliciously gruesome....it has raw energy that sucks the reader in....I like the wordplay in this, especially the repetition of "vain, vane".....great job =)

    I really like this line, it is what clued me on to it being about drug use. Really good job with this. It is very in your face-ish.

    I don't know how I missed this...well yea I do- laziness....but this is excellent. I always enjoy stepping away and coming back to judge a person's growth. You are really learning to slide into different skins. Great Job!
