I Love You
I am sitting here
listening to “I Love You”
by Sarah McLachlan.
Over and over again.
Her soft heavenly voice,
still takes me back in time,
when I gazed into your eyes and
felt the beauty of your smile.
My heart still skips a beat
when I think of that moment,
as it raced uncontrollably
when you whispered I need you so.
I remember the softness
of a single kiss and
how our souls embraced.
As the song continues to play,
I can feel my heart reach out to you
all over again.
Our Love just flowed so freely,
nothing else mattered,
No stress from the people or life itself.
It just faded away,
leaving our hearts free.
Words unspoken,
yet sung so clearly
Between you and I.
Now the song has ended again
and as I restart it, close my eyes
holding on to these memories.

This started off much different than I started but as I listened to the music some very old memories guided my pen. I hope you like it.

This song is almost haunting to me, because it reminds me of the few I have loved and lost. It hurts, and this poem shows that I am not the only one who sees the pain in the words. Thank you very much for your lovely entry.

It is amazing how a song can bring such emotions and sweet memories back to us so vividly as if we were in that moment again. This is such a sweet and beautiful write showing how this song has brought you such peace, such love and I hope you play it often as it seems to take you to a very special time and place where there are just good memories, warm feelings and peacefulness within your heart.

What wonderful nostalgic memories of a past love these are, and so very romantic and sensual too. That moment when you touch and your heart misses a beat is so special and is one that is never forgotten. Loving someone and being loved in return it a most precious gift to be treasured forever.
