Do you think they see the real me?
The one hiding behind the makeup?
Behind the smile?
Do you think they see the gun to my head?
The knife to my throat?
The razor to my wrist?
Do you think they see the pain?
The anger?
The tears welling up behind my eyes?
Do you think they see the person I want them to see?

Wow... blunt, and bleak, and gets the idea across wonderfully. The images are really strong – I like the way it started with what you can see on the outside, then to what's really going on – and I feel like I'm failing to express how powerful I think this is. So, um, great job!

Nice title. Good introspective sense in this piece. Deep expression of emotion. Good imagery, flow and tone. Good word choice, nice alliteration and assonance. Thank you for your entry.
