as raindrops sigh my name
and in your memory have no grief
for the love we shared remains
When evening stars look down
putting sparkles in your eyes
there will be no tears to shed
as you tread toward sunrise
They will see no sadden sorrows
in tomorrow's future plans
Our children's chaperonage
will be guided by your hands
If your thoughts do turn to me
I will not have your grief
Jus' live for our children
laugh with our children
and I will rest in peace

INSPIRATION:This exerpt from "Twilight" by Irene Walton.
"It's too late when they've gone to shed a tear,
nature won't change...though the ways
it was part of yourselves you were keeping near
for the old one was all your yesterdays.
And the old one would say, "Look to your son,
please my dear, waste not your sorrows.
I'm at peace, at last my day is done-
the children are your tomorrows."

This was sadly beautiful...Thank you for sharing. I have been feeling down latly and despite what most sad poems do this lifted my spirits..It shows true love and emotion and had such a meloncholy undertone...Beautiful and wonderful,

Lovely poetry... such a soothing quality about this "memorandum" of yours. I think it speaks to all of us who have known sorrow and tears and it lights a candle when the days and the nights are dark. So wonderful to read this today, my friend!!
