Bottled up Feelings

Mum:
I do not give a damn about your opnions in regards to school;
it is MY life and MY hopes and dreams.
NOT yours!
I hate that you try and dictate my life
when it will only make me sad and rebel
I'm not your perfect angel and in no way a perfect daughter;
all I try to be is me!
why can't you accept that?

just leave me alone, mother,
I don't want you in my life anymore.
you love amanda more than me
and I'm sick of pretending to be indifferent about it.

give me the chance,
and I'll run-away
away from you
forever.

Author notes

yes, this is true. amanda is my younger sister and i'll never live up to her. haven't told my mum any of this and probably never will.

    it is sometimes hard to be a mother

    If being a child is so difficult but what about being a mother? i don't think mums are jerks..if you say that, your child could say you are a jerk even when you think you are not lol..remember you're a girl as well and someday soon you will be a mother..your son or your daughter may write something like this behind your back and it will surely hurt lol..mothers do make drastic mistakes...so does everyone..we musn't hate..but love them eventhough we might not receive the same kind of love we want back. Good piece though makes me think!

    Beautiful, powerful. Your feelings are felt by many, by friends of mine, by strangers. No parent or child is perfect. This is an inspiring, heartfelt piece.

    You write a very powerful verse and I totaly understand. I'm not that old that I don't remember what it's like. You have those feelings now but they're wrong. Your mom does love you; parents don't play favorites. Give her a break, she wants you to have a better life than she has that's why she pushes you. If she didn't love you she wouldn't "dictate" your life; she simply wouldn't care what you did. You know me Tay, I wouldn't lie to you. I know you too, you're tougher than this so grin and bear it OK? I'm always here for you and you can IM me with your problems any time. Lets talk about this, your teenage hormones are driveing you nuts but it gets better, trust me.

    Love,
    Amera♥
