Little laughter sprinkles
Smiles sparkle
Eyes filled with tears
Walk on the pastures
As I take through the lanes of memories
Irony is its part
Tears are other half
Past brings with it
High jumps in the puddles
Sailor’s ships of paper
Hooting for rain drops
So much to talk
Not enough hours on the clock
Meaningless words spoken
Laughing on silly jokes
Walks in the park
Wise advices of Dad
Shopping spree at dad’s expenses
When together we went
To every market in the town
Nothing said, everything understood
Every heart beat of mine
Went straight to heart of my dad
End of the day conversations
Catching up sessions
Even when he was out of town
We had telephone discussions
Every tear dropped
Dad immediately intervened
From grocery shopping list
To brother’s wedding preparations
From littlest situation
To the biggest one
Never was I left alone
Every problem had a solution
For I found them with my dad
Those motorcycle rides
Evening badminton matches
Arm wrestling to judo classes
Lived a life of a free bird
With no boundaries
But there was no time
Disrespect was tolerated
Got my every way
As long as I kept my education
Little brat, daddy’s princess was my name
For he taught me to be a queen
Who rules with a heart first
Then comes mind
Selfishness is not what keeps her throne
But selfless act of kindness keeps it on
Memories I’ve collected
The reasons for my living
The movie stopped
At some point lost it all
My producer, the finest director
Life threw me out in the open
Castle was left far behind
Since then still memories come by
Still bring floating tears
Heart still bleeds
With a major difference
The pain is greater
For it unfolds the scars
That would never heal
So are the memories
Bring with them tears
Smiles that we once shared
And few others better not remembered
Memories come to stay
Never are forgotten
Even if they make us cry
With pain or with smiles
Memories make us who we are
For they live in us
Breath with us
Memories are here to stay
No matter how hard we try
Tears will float in our eyes
Memories are here to stay
For now and for ever
