Sunlight through an eagle's feather.
A moonlit night's planting.
Harvest moon rising.
Forever the beat of my heart.
Once stilled...
The warmth of evening earth.
The kiss of morning's dew.
Mist hovering, recalitrant.
Sunrise
a shade of red yet unnamed.

Thinking too much.
Please tell me what you think

I Like it.
It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Great descriptive write.

I think you should "think too much" again.
It speaks to me of the thrill of being alive.

I like this....
...for several reasons, one of which 'Harvest Moon' the Neil Young song, a story and a poem honoring it..."a shade of red yet unnamed...' precious line....hovering, recalcitrant....had a young lady tell me a few weeks ago recalcitrant was not a word....smiles...
lovely work...wonderful to see you again...
John...

You were the only one to pickup on and connect Harvest Moon to Neil Young...that was very astuteas it is one of my favorite Neil Young songs.
And as to the young lady- perhaps she left her Pocket Webster at home.
Am glad you liked the line about red...It is so good to be back writing again.
I was at the cardiologist just yesterday and I started a new main heart med...brand new and without the asthma and edema side effects. If I tolerate it well..I may actually have an active life again..and much more time.....one can only hope.
Thank you for reading John. Good to hear from you.

Very nice!
I love your warm images, especially "the warmth of evening earth." This must be some guy to bring such lovely words out of you. The poem is so sensuous while appearing to be so innocent!

I haven't done much writing for quite a while, so I am a bit rusty.
But no matter what, he touches a place deep inside that sometimes can't be silenced. Thank you so much, Joyce, for such a wonderfully supportive comment.

This poem has a lot of touch and softness to it. Each line describes something muted. I like that. Is it an "idea" that is being planted in the second line? I think this is so, and that makes that line oh so romantic. Then, when you follow with the describing action of your heart, you focus the reader's attention- capture it even.
I bet you're a fabulous painter.
Thanks.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting on "You."
As far as painting...I never feel I get it quite like I intend.
But thank you for that encouragement.

No...not "thinking too much"...Thinking just enough to paint a beautiful image in my mind for my first read this wonderful Sunday afternoon. The visuals here are stunning and, you made me look...I had to look up the word; "[recalcitrant]". I love when that happens.

Love the thought of the mist moving in a rebellious manner. Wonderful visual there. Excellent musing dear friend. Thanks for the watercolor of words.
Much Love Always ♥

Shades are but the inbetweens
of pures that lie at end
Like a want's a shade of need
but just a ghost my friend
Luminance a mixed degree
will fool the eye first glance
But if consistency appears
then it's more than happenstance
Have a lovely weekend..
Hugs...Eddy
