Thy Will Not Mine

Thy Will Not Mine
These words ring true
Of a life full of devotion
For me and for you

When we chase the dreams
In our heads and our hearts
We often neglect
The plans of His heart

How awesome could
This world be
If but for a moment
We all did see

That the path He lays
Down before us
Blesses the whole world
Instead of just us

Author notes

I wrote this after seeing the picture with the poem Crucifixion Cup.  Thy Will Not Mine is a prayer I pray every day.  This poem is about putting a better path, His path, ahead of our hopes and dreams.  For often times when we do, we realize that we don't really want what is in our hopes and dreams.  What is along and at the end of His path is so much better - for all.

The will of the Father will never lead you down the wrong path. A very nice prayer, and a good poem.

    Very wise
Your poem captures the overall idea.. certainly not what is better for us as individuals, but "us" as a whole. Wonderfully expressed.
