Thank God

The devil is trying to beat me down
I will not let him win
My life is full of hope and promise
Despite the ways I've sinned

For a man so great, died for me
That day on calvary
That I might go on to live a life
Full of God's great glory

Satan picks and plans each day
Never a moment does he waste
All of my sin and weakness
He likes to throw in my face

Brush them aside is what I do
When my sins I must face
Then down on my knees I fall and pray
To thank God for His saving grace!

Author notes

I wrote this poem four days ago after reading an email from my friend encouraging me to turn my fear into the right kind of fear.  From fear of the Lord comes wisdom.  My recent fear was not in the right place.  She helped me get my fear back where it belongs which led me to this poem about my gratitude for all Christ has done, is doing, and will do in my life.

Sin is synonymous with being human. With our very last breath, we will sin. We will feel death’s shadow fall upon us and wonder if there really is something on the other side of the veil. Through Jesus, the other side is within our grasp. He reaches into the mire of our sins and pulls us out. He gives us hope, and shows us the way. We have only to follow. This is a good piece.

This is a beautiful write, full of the wisdom that can lead one to salvation through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Your friend pointed you in the right direction and I pray you will continue to follow in Jesus' footsteps, for narrow is the path that leads to salvation. God bless you and yours.

We can certainly get on the wrong track and it's not so easy to
get back on the right track ...I'm so glad you have been inspired
by a friend ...sometimes that all we need is that little extra ..
encouragement from someone who cares ...

A very nice job on the flow of this poem and ryhme

Good Luck to You in the contest! Much Love~ Mina
