Love Christelle

September 21st 1842

Dear William,

I can not write much as my great uncle will surly notice I'm not asleep.

I sit here by candle light with my ink and quill, though there are one million things I wish to say to you I don't know where to begin.

Let me first tell you that although my great uncle forbid us to be together, know that I love you dearly.

It has been 2 whole months since I saw you last, and every second has been hell.

I miss you so much.

My dear, darling William, as much as it pains me, I cannot help but face the truth.

We must not see each other anymore.

I love you, always know that, but we cant not risk meeting up again for fear of being discovered.

It fills my heart with despair and my eyes with tears at the thought of never seeing you again, but I know what must be done.

For if you were caught there is no telling what my great uncle would do to you.

So now I must say goodbye.

Do not attempt to reply to this letter as I could not bare anything to happen to you.

Goodbye my dearest.

Know that I love you.

Love Christelle

Dear Christelle,

When I received your letter in the dead of night, I was overjoyed.

Though after reading it I will not deny that my heart had broken in two.

Though you told me not to reply I simply had to.

I have decided that I cannot stand being apart from you any longer.

I have a proposal for you.

I propose that we elope.

Lets leave forever.

Away from here, away from your great uncle.

We should live our lives, together.

Please come away with me.

Should you accept my proposal I will be waiting under the one apple tree by the pine lake at 1am on Friday morning.

Know that I love you.

Forever yours,

William.
