Living Alone

Oh, the joys of living alone
NEVER, do you wait
  to get on the phone
Rarely does it ring,
  that bothersome sound
Thats more annoying,
  than any Blue Tick hound

Something missing? Out of place?
I can assure you,
  its not in space
Its right where you left it
No need to fear
Its either a ghost in your hallway
Or you've had too much beer.

Lonely???...  Sometimes....
There's a price to pay
For peace and solitude
A happy 'life' I portray

Choices? Circumstances?  Who's to say
Living alone,
hmmm....
I kinda like it this way

Boredom never. As for the loneliness, I've been more alone when I lived with someone than I am now. I thrive on solitude. *smile* Thanks for the comments

A catchy rhyme scheme you got going on here. I like this poem a lot, because it is so clever and neat. Living alone? Sounds alright to me.

echoes from the south I love my freedom, but I also miss the daily contact of someone special...the interaction, the quiet but good feel of being in someone's company...your poetry spoke to me, and will probably speak to many. Good luck in Sean's contest Love, Lane

I think we two are similar in our beliefs. I only pray to such gods -that our choices are the right ones. There's nothing better in the world than being able to run through one's house butt naked! The dogs won't ever tell. they just smile with a tail whip and make us feel safer in our little castles. -getn' a lump in my throat -missing my dog back home in Oklahoma. I really enjoyed this piece. -I'm reading it again..I so love to re-read poetry. It's different nearly every time.
