Southern Melodies

Wind blows through the willows
whispering sad melodies
of ghost of the south understood by all
sitting on grandma's porch listening to stories
of our past spoken from generation to generation,
sipping iced tea, knowing comfort
of truth in friends and family,
Southern Grace comes in Georgia smiles,
plantations and cotton fields of home.

Grandma's porch, no more sacred ground than that, lol. Lovely feelings captured here. Thank you for your entry.

    Oh wow.

There is so much in this poem especially the line about a ghost of the south understood by all. Keep up the good work.
