Last night and a bit went in my eye
Maybe this is what it's like
To be blind
And my baby's chugging acid
And I wouldn't really mind
Except life's been rather placid
Of late and that's been
Quite nice.
But the factory's are spewing smoke
And as I struggle in I choke
On fumes of twisted plastic
I see three hundred
Million people
All
With
The
Same
Face
And you might say it's rather drastic
But I think that it's fantastic
Because it means no more
Waking up in the middle of the night
To find it's daytime. Again.
And then taking another bite
Of my chemical cupcake that my
...... doctor recommends
A cocktail of poison to
Help me get better and better
And haha I just said cock,
And fuck and shit and cunt,
But you can't beat me this time,
And you never will again,
Because I'll tie the knot with you
If you'll just pass the rope,
And when they bury you it won't be deep,
I hope,
Because I want you to feel the rain.
Oh wait. That's not the rain at all.
That's the sprinkler system which
Puts out the fires in my mind,
That rage and destroy,
Leaving only buckets and brooms,
And silent rooms.
But then the baby screams
And I'm startled from my dreams
And as I stand I see rainbows as
They flash across my eyes and I
Run/walk/fall down the stairs
Trip on my cares
But the baby's been dead for years.
And so have I. I think.
Author notes
My first poem in ages; inspired by poets such as AshtrayBaby, and the rhythm with which I read it has a lot in common with Angry (Feet) by Tim Minchin, which you can find being read by the author on youtube.com if you wish to get a feel for it. Literary critics might also discern one of my favourite lines, which comes from George Orwell's 1984. To avoid any legal issues, the line is 'Three hundred million people all with the same face', or something like that, I don't even know if I've quoted it directly, but yes, it was George's first etc.
Hope you enjoy!
Please tell me what you think

I'm not familiar with the poets who inspired this, so I found it to be a lot of random thoughts, which is ok. I sure this is really deep - it has that feel.
best wishes.

No, it's not deep at all

It is essentially, just a collection of vivid images, written for the heck of it. -

well, guess to me it had the feel of something deep....I liked the freedom of just random thoughts which you did - I guess I was feeling a little sad maybe that I missed the deeper meaning. anyways, you did well.
best wishes.
