Georgia Tried

He stumbles
grace embraces him,
he falls the sands
pull him under.

Her hands dig
in the red clay of Georgia,

numb and bleeding

tears mix with red clay

never to wash the stains away.

Lost  in his own pain

only to be saved by self,

~still "Georgia" tried.

    Encore!

What a wonderful metaphor of your desperate attempt to save your son.
In the end, you have learned already, we can only save ourselves. Few words, strong images! You always write your heart on your sleeve.
    Much love, Sis XOXO

Not sure what the prompt was in this contest, but appears to have something to do with trying to save someone. Oft times some find that there is nothing to save them from themselves, even though others try hard to do just that.

One that seeks to save one from themself, yet finds that the other is lost to himself in exile. Nicely written and best to you in the contest.

    Love,
