When I looked in the face of someone dieing
and then out on the world
the sky that once was blue now is gray and clouded
the shadows are darker it seems
nature brown and brittle
as if mother earth herself has gone to her grave
the world full of brightness is now dark and gloomy to me
but when she went to heaven
she won't have to wait for her halo and wings
because to me she's already an angel
And the day she died the light left my world
Author notes
This is in memory of my aunt Kathy who died earlier this year
