Among the Pages of a Book

A castle on a cliff top high,
A maiden in distress, oh my,
All a-dance with hue and cry,
In the corner of mind’s eye.

Oh what delights can be found,
In the pages of a novel bound.
By glue and sweat and tears profound,
The words of long dead men do sound.

If all the world’s a stage,
Souls and dreams are on the page,
Trapped forever in this cage.

Warm and cosy as I sit,
To these pages I submit,
With love and peace infinite.

For here it is, with a book,
Among those pages I am took.
You will find me if you look,
Far beyond my dusty nook.
