They could plant more trees,
maybe some bushes.
Instead they plant mountains
made to be caves
or tombs
could they mix the two better

Is this opposite of something,
better worse than
compared to life outside
a centrality
to replace God himself
but it isn't, just stop lights.

I have seen her grow,
from west side punk
to central salary woman,
outstanding class and creativity.

Author notes

This was a fun topic to do after listening to a band called The Dismemberment Plan. I was parcially inspired by them and by my own city. There is a silence in the city that isn't in the suburbs or the country or even in a studio. It is like a silence of society as a personable essence. A town will claim you, a suburb might claim you if your family is influential enough, but a city just doesn't claim, but demands you claim it. I have lived in all three of these locations. It is hard to compare them. The city has an alure, though, that I think is what keeps so many people so close together without having to really know or care for one another.

poem did not tug any strings for me, I did like the
