Lying alone shrouded in snow
Shivering in the blizzard howling
Without a friend for comfort
Like a sailor lost at sea
Curious animals meander near by
Visiting the lonely soul
Only to devastate all that persists
Of one red mitten

it's like losing a good friend... and the coldness to hands and heart
well done and many thanks for entering this contest

i like the personification of lonliness that you attributed to a single red mitten- there is a sense of loss and lonliness that surely a red mitten would feel if it lost its mate. I appreciate your effort here.
thanks so much
