And They Call it Progress
W. Peter Sanci Jan. 17 / 2008
My good friend Bob and I went out for a drive today.
It was a nice day, we drove and drove, quite far away.
One thing became crystal clear as we went on our merry way.
That the open land that there used to be was being filtered away.
Houses were popping up all over in the places where
forests and animals used to be.
Bob and I were getting worried, what would happen to
all of the little creatures, who used to roam wild and
free.
And all this building is done in the name of progress of
course.
So we thought of screaming, at the top of our voices, till
we became hoarse.
But then we thought and, and we thought, what would be a better way.
Then I said, “ Hey Bob, I think I know, I’ll write a poem,
to get people to start thinking, about saving the land for
the animals and to live a better each and every day.
I know that there’s still hope for old Mother Earth.
People just have to start saving instead of spending,
Just like giving birth.
Then this old world will be a better place once again.
And then the animals and the birds will once again reign.

Good
This is a very good entry to our contest, no one ever thinks of the animals that once lived where they are expanding cities and towns, they just look at the town doing great, it is growing. Good write, thank you for your entry into our group contest and good luck.
