The towers slanted sideways
Light dangling at the bays.
People laughing, dancing
Dogs are barking, prancing.
That doesn't hide the alleyways
Nor does it hide the pain
Of love or truth, or anything else
It'll never hide the rain.
New York is a city filled with
People everywhere.
While I watch the sun rise
I knew it's always there.
Welcome to New York I say,
But Oh I don't know why.
I want you to stay away
But welcome you I'll try.

there was meaning, but the rhyme seems a bit forced and it's a little lacking in emotion. I appreciate the effort.
