Desperately
I chew at the straps
Struggling
In this jacket I am wrapped
Echoing
Of the sounding alarms
Fearing
This is a call to arms
Waiting
For the inevitable to transcend
Coming
Is the war within
My heart won’t yield
As my mind rebels
This soul is the battlefield
Preparing for hell
Charging of the artillery
Feeling everything unwind
Mortars shoot through my arteries
Exploding into headaches in my mind
Internal bleeding will begin
Under my rawhide
Ambushing of my organs
Eaten up inside
Weakening of muscles
Battered by the strain
As it clogs my vessels
And corrupts the veins
Threatening blood clots
Seize my abdomen
Causing my stomach to knot
Asphyxiating the butterflies within
Emotion succumbs to reason
A genocide of feelings
Desperately fighting for cohesion
Searching for elusive healing
Indefinitely
This battle shall wage
Until finally
Nothing remains but rage
An underground uprising
Fought below the skin
But nobody recognizes
The war within

Hmmm.... The poem was alright... I'm not sure about the flow of it though. You changed the sylabol count wayyy too much... Thank you for entering my contest.
