Turbulent memories are eating him away
He tries to smile, but the thoughts won't go away
He dials a number and prays there's someone there
But everyone is busy, no one is there to care
He curls up by himself and mourns the loss of love
Tears fall down his face as he waits for that sign from above
But nothing ever comes, there is no guiding hand
Nothing is telling him different, all is telling him to stand
Everything inside him says there's nothing left anymore
Even though we all love him, He just can't see that anymore
So in his final moments, he silently whispers his goodbyes
He takes the last step, as the tears drain from his eyes
I guess we should be happy, he no longer can feel that pain
but, always I wonder, if I had been there would it have ended the same
I guess it's not my place, to try to place that blame
But everynight I see his face and start to relive that pain

Very sad poem, melancholy comes to mind. I enjoyed your rhymes although, I didn’t think it was necessary to use the word (anymore) twice to finish consecutive rows. Still a very good perspective you have penned describing the consequences of guilt and subsequent regret. Well done, its been a long time since I read you this reminds me of why I have you on my favs list…peace
