First,
The loudness is rising,
growing boisterous,
I shut my ears to it
but then
The quiet comes,
consuming,
echoing,
ringing in my ears
with the sounds
only quiet
can make.
The silence is
strangely noisy,
And then,
the mutter of sounds
from the people
begins.
And now the noise
is more quiet,
more peaceful,
more than the silence
could ever be.
