Though the valley the wind was blowing
Making the flowers in the fields gently sway
A meandering river was slowly flowing
It was a haven for ducks to play
Trees were growing on either side
Dipping branches as if for a drink
Majestic swans upon the waters glide
On the bank stood the magnificent mink
High above an eagle flew
Searching for food for its newborn young
The moon had been, and had said adieu
It was now the time for the sun
In the distance a church bell rang
As rabbits they played with the sheep
Up in the sky a lark it sang
As fellow owls did fall asleep
Down the valley come the long shadows
just marking the time of day
Images etched on beautiful meadows
Like figurines made out of clay
Two lovers sitting on the hillside
Just watching the day unfold
Mother Nature would not be denied
It was a wondrous sight to behold
